Bullying in Workplace & How to avoid it - Task 24

In our work places, sometimes people get bullied. This is a big problem, but many people don't tell anyone about it. Let's talk about why this happens and how we can make things better. Why People Don't Tell About Bullying People often keep quiet about bullying for a few reasons. They might be scared that if they tell someone, the bullying will get worse. They are afraid of losing their job or being treated badly after they speak up. Also, sometimes, when they tell their problem, others might not take it seriously, especially if the person doing the bullying is a boss or someone important. Another reason is feeling ashamed. In many offices, people think you should solve your own problems. So, if you say you are being bullied, it might seem like you are weak or can't handle your job. What Happens If You Tell Someone When someone tells about bullying, sometimes the situation can get more difficult. The person who is bullying might start doing more bad things, or other peo...

My Journey and Readiness for Higher Duties

In my pursuit of excellence and growth within our esteemed organisation, I've dedicated time to researching the core attributes that define an exceptional leader. Through this exploration, I've identified five key qualities vital for effective leadership: self-awareness , self-regulation , motivation , empathy , and social skills . Reflecting on my professional journey, I am confident in my embodiment of these traits, particularly self-awareness , motivation , and empathy , which fortify my readiness for higher duties and leadership roles. Self-Awareness: Self-awareness is the cornerstone of impactful leadership. It's about understanding one's emotions, strengths, weaknesses, and the influence one's actions have on others. Over the past two years, I've consistently demonstrated this quality by actively seeking feedback, engaging in introspection, and applying this understanding to enhance team dynamics and project outcomes. For example, I only appointed the task...

Self-Reflective from "How to stay calm when you know you'll be stressed" by Daniel Levitin

As a neuroscientist, the speaker have learned a thing or two about how our brains perform under stress. When we're faced with unexpected challenges, our bodies release cortisol, which can cloud our thinking and impair our judgment. But what if we could anticipate these challenges and prepare ourselves beforehand? That's where the concept of "prospective hindsight" comes in.  Prospective hindsight is like a pre-mortem analysis - instead of waiting for disaster to strike and then trying to figure out what went wrong, we proactively identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. In this blog post, I'll share some practical tips for applying prospective hindsight in your daily life, starting with some obvious solutions and moving on to less apparent ones. Obvious Solution #1: Designate a Place for Easily Lost Items One of the most common sources of stress in our homes is misplaced items. Whether it's keys, wallets, or phones, losing essenti...

I will talk about my experience when I bought my Samsung S22 phone from JB Hifi store in Casuarina. 1 How does the company create awareness of its product? JB Hifi puts a banner on their website to create the awareness of this phone. Banners also appeared in front of their brick-and-mortar stores. JB Hifi uses promo emails, social network marketing, and banners in front of their store, to market the phone. They also have multiple campaigns on Google and Bing and if you search about "Samsung S22", their results would be on top of the page. This marketing strategy is intelligent because people tends to trust the products that they found by themselves, but not the products that directly marketed to them like Facebook or Twitter Ads. I got interested in this phone just because I saw the banner on their website and it was so tempting so I decided to visit the store to try it first. 2 How does the company get consumers to try its product? JB Hifi offers a try-on in store ...
